Zeedz: Turning Gameplay into Real-World Climate Action
Location: Germany
About Project
Zeedz is the first NFT autobattler game that is good for the environment. The game lets you play and help lower carbon emissions around the world. In this game, you collect and care for creatures that look like plants. When you play, you help with real climate action.
The game brings together blockchain, care for the environment, and new ideas in mobile gaming. It turns playing on your phone every day into a real way to help the planet.
Client and Project
The Zeedz team went to Whimsy Games with a goal. They wanted to make a gamified solution for climate change awareness. Their idea was bold. They planned to create a mobile NFT game that is not only fun but also truly sustainable.
Challenges Faced
-
No-Code Integration Complexity
It was hard to add our custom battle system to the client’s no-code game framework. The setup needed many changes. We had to build several gameplay features from the start.
-
Limited Time Before Release
The Zeedz team went to Whimsy Games just 2–3 months before launch. They already had marketing campaigns scheduled on German TV. Getting a feature-complete and stable system in that short time was a big challenge.
-
Combat Logic and Balancing
We built the combat mechanics, abilities, and level progression from the ground up. Balancing various Zeedz creatures and skill sets required continuous tuning and QA testing.
-
Performance Optimization
Making sure the game works well on lots of different mobile devices was very important. We made the pictures, code, and load times better. This helped to keep frame rates high. It lets people have a smooth time when they play.
-
Fast Collaboration Workflow
Working with an outside design team meant that we had to talk every day. There were also fast changes. The deadlines were close, but Whimsy Games did their work all the time. They stayed in line with what the client wanted.
The Product Owner
The Zeedz team kept charge of the game’s environmental mission and how it looks, while Whimsy Games worked on the main gameplay and combat parts. The two teams worked together in a quick way. They shared thoughts each day and made many changes in a short time.

Developed Features
Job Done
- Custom Combat System Made the whole combat system for Zeedz. This includes the abilities, how things are set up, levels, and balancing.
- Integration with No-Code Core Changed how the combat system works so it fits in with the client’s no-code game framework. This helps keep the game stable and makes sure it always works the same way.
- Visuals and Animations Made effects and battle moves that look good and help make fights fun. I made sure they work well and run smoothly on phones.
- Level Progression and Balancing Set up new levels for Zeedz creatures. I wanted the game to feel fair for all players. The power of these creatures now fits with their skills. Each one is balanced, so they work well together.
- Efficient Workflow Gave the combat system on time and made sure it was good. I kept up the hard work, even though there was not much time left to finish it.
- Tight Deadline Finished the combat system in about two to three months. This helped the client stay on track for their release date. It also met the needs for their marketing plan.
Outcomes
Zeedz brings a new kind of green gaming. It mixes fun NFT battles with a goal to help lower carbon in the world. The game has a strong battle setup. The system for moving ahead in the game is fair and smooth. The game looks sharp and clean on the screen. All this helped the game come out on time and do well. Zeedz has been noticed for new ways to play and caring for the planet.
